Alyeska Hotel and Ski Resort In Girdwood. Alaska

My favorite travel destination in the entire world is the Alyeska Ski Resort (and Alyeska Hotel) in Girdwood, Alaska. I have been here three times in the past fifteen years and have always enjoyed myself immensely. The resort has its own tram to transport guests not just to the ski lifts themselves but all over the resort, resulting in some of the most picturesque and awe-inspiring views in the whole world. Alaska is one of the most beautiful places on earth and there's few better places to experience this than Alyeska. Guests are free to use the amazing Glacier Valley Transit system as well. The hotel has its own world-famous spa and offers bicycle rentals also. The hotel is surprisingly affordable and usually has openings. The inherent problem with a vacation centering around outdoor activities is the looming possibility of inclement weather sabotaging carefully laid plans. This is just as, if not more likely to transpire in Alaska, but the world-class hotel does its best to alleviate the disappointment of that scenario. From the concierge service upon arrival to the well wishes from the friendly staff on the way out, Alyeska can only be described as the perfect way to experience Alaska.
