Breezes in Curacao

Since my wife and I have been married, I’ve had the misfortune of having to attend the weddings of one friend of hers after another. After a while they’ve all seemed to run together as if they all shared one common wedding. That all changed when one of her co-workers invited us to her dream wedding which was to be held in Curacao. I didn’t know very much about Curacao when we booked the trip other than from what I saw online. I let my wife handle all the arrangements and I have to say she made a very wise choice when she chose to book us at Curacao’s Breezes Resort. I’m not sure if I’ve ever encountered a more friendly place than Curacao. The people of the island, and especially those that worked for the resort, acted as if they truly wanted us to be happy there and enjoy ourselves, not as if they only cared for the well being of their jobs and livelihoods. We saw this in all facets of our stay. We spent a fair amount of time relaxing by the beach but when we wanted to partake in an activity we found a lot to do. We enjoyed an excellent horseback ride on the beach which is fun anywhere, but especially fun on a pristine beach surrounded by crystal blue waters. Another day we went on a scuba trip where we saw many breathtaking coral formations that left us thrilled that we spent the extra money to get the underwater camera. I can’t tell you how disappointed I was when it was time to come up for air because I felt like I was home amongst the beauty of the reef and it’s creatures. I think I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how much my wife enjoyed the facial and body scrub she had at the spa. I’ve spent far more on a treatment back home that didn’t garner as much satisfaction from my wife. I also feel I should let people know that the people of Curacao like to dress well when they go out to eat, so take some nice clothing as well. The restaurants of Curacao are not formal but you’ll fit in very well if you’re dressed neatly with elegance. All in all, this was a tremendous vacation for us thanks to Breezes and the people of the wonderful island of Curacao. And for once, I actually remember the wedding.
