We'll share our trip report to the all inclusive Super Clubs Resort, Breezes at Runaway Bay Jamaica
Click here to share your trip report on the Breezes Resort I surprised my wife by telling her, I just booked a trip for an all inclusive resort, Breezes at Runaway Bay Jamaica (Jamaica North Coast) with Supper Clubs for December. She was excited at first but wanted to know why I picked this resort.
A few years ago we had traveled to Paradise Island in the Bahamas and had a great time but found the food was extremely expensive and we had to watch our pennies. We were also hassled on the beach by the locals, peddling the wears.
"I didn't want to worry about money & wanted to try an All Inclusive Resort"I said that I did not want to worry about the money and wanted to try all-inclusive which included airfare, transportation, room, food, drinks and entertainment. I told her I really liked the brochure and the price. She seemed reluctant and said she had heard Jamaica was dangerous. I told her that the Super Club resorts have a great reputation and transportation was provided by the resorts. Since we are both adventurous off we went.
"Maine had been so cold that we could not wait to relax on the beach"We decided to leave the first part of December right after hurricane season. While on the Air Jamaica Flight we met some golfers who asked if this was our first trip to Jamaica and told them it was. They said it would be best to stay at the resort and not to venture off on our own unless it was a group tour, until we became familiar with the Island. We had been working so hard that the plan was just to relax on the beach in the warm sun. We had just left the cold and snow in Maine.
"Arrival into Montego Bay, Jamica"When we arrived at Montego Bay we quickly cleared customs and went to the Super Clubs booth. We were greeted with bottled water and waited just a few minutes for our transportation to Runaway Bay. As soon as we left the terminal and we were greeted with a Red Stripe beer. The sun was so hot and I knew this was going to be a great vacation. We were told our trip might take a couple an hour, so we sat back in the van and took in the sights of Jamaica.
I could see the lush Green Mountains to the right of us and the tourquoise seas to the left. To leave white snow to see all these colors took some adjusting. There were many tin shanties next to the main road and it was the first time I had seen this type of poverty. For awhile my wife was concerned and said "where did you bring me?" Her concerns left when we arrived at the beautiful Breezes Resort. "We met many return visitors to Breezes on the Bus ride"One important note that while traveling on the van we were with many return vacationers who couldn't wait to get there. The van offer to stop on the way for a break and they shouted "keep on going!" WE couldn't wait to check in. Once we got settled, we walked around the 22 acres of lush tropical ocean front grounds and found the staff was friendly. We noticed that there was many returned vacationers and the staff new them by name.
I was told that the Breezes at Runaway Bay had a 18 hole PGA Championship golf course, Tennis and the best scuba In Jamaica but for us this was going to be relaxing on the beach with cold drinks. The layout of the resort was great from the white sands of the beach you are not far from the dinning area, bars, pool and your rooms. There were hammocks to lounge in all over the resort. There is a portion of the beach dedicated to nude sunbathing for those of you who do. There are many water and land sports that are included in package.
Your Dining experience can be as simple as eating under the open air Beach Terrace or an elegant evening at Pastafari Italian style. While at the resort we saw a wedding just about every day where the ceremony can occur almost anywhere on the resort.
