Now you can see why Carnival is considered the Best Value Vacation. Carnival still has the same price points as in 1978 and the ships have changes drastically.

I have been on five different Carnival Cruises. They were all very enjoyable. Our most memorable one was our first. We went on a five-day cruise on the Ecstasy to Cozumel, Mexico and Grand Cayman.

The Ecstasy was one of the smaller ships so it seems we received more personable service. We absolutely loved our room steward. He was very helpful and sweet. It seemed he went out of his way to make sure we were attended too. I think you get more personable service on the smaller ships because they have more time to spend with each room.

Dining was awesome too. The food was great and you had many different choices. If you didn’t like what was on the menu that day, the staff was more then happy to prepare something else for you. You could even order more then one entrée if you wanted to try something else. Food was available 24/7. We love taking cruises because if you add up the food you consume, the rental of a hotel, gas for a vehicle or airfare and all the other added extras you really save a lot of money.

Also they have plenty of excursions available to pick from. Everything is already set up and you don’t have to worry about planning anything. That in itself is a big plus. For us, the ease of driving to Florida and having many different destinations is also a plus.

My husband is afraid to fly so we never are able to leave the country. Carnival provides many different destinations to choose from and they are all within a driving distance from home. You can hop on a ship from almost any coast now. We only had 10 days for our first trip. We drove to Florida in a day, stayed in a hotel room for a couple of days and toured the area around us. Then we drove to the port, parked our car and hopped on the ship. We took our five-day trip on the ship then docked, hopped in our car and drove home with a day to rest before going back to work. It’s nice to hop from country to country in only a week of work loss.

We enjoyed our trip so much so that the following year we took our teenagers. They had a blast! They made many new friends and still talk to them today. Donna, South Carolina
