When booking your Las Vegas Trip and you choose to arrive by air, McCavran International Airport (IATALAS) is the best to fly into. Las Vegas is the largest city in Nevada known as the Entertainment Capital of the World.

One of the best ways of getting around is walking since the Hotel-Casinos are near each other. Taxis are one of the easiest way. The cab drivers in Vegas are required to turn the meter on when you get in and take the shortest route to your destination. If your are arriving at McCavran International, car rentals are cheap and the most popular.

My wife, Kathy and I attended a convention in Vegas which was our first trip to the city and choose to rent a car since this was our first visit to the west. It was the first of May when we left our home state of Maine and I could not get over the vast difference looking at the red rocks of Nevada and seeing very little green. The temps were in the 90's and we were told the temperature was high for Las Vegas for this time of year. This was our first experience in dry heat and I could feel my nostrils burning the first day. I could not believe how active you could be without breaking a sweat.

We found the hotels and meals on the strip cheap. I was told the casinos want you to gamble. We are really not gamblers but we had some fun on the slots and when it was time to leave we had broke about even and had a lot of fun.

Kathy wanted to shop and really enjoyed finding shops that were not in Maine. One of the best times was attending the many nightly shows. My best time was the drive to Hoover Dam and Lake Meade to check out the country side.

"Here Are Some Key Las Vegas Travel Tips"

Never pay full price for a show. There are several locations on the strip that offer discounts on same day or next day shows.

The Stratosphere roller coaster is a big thrill if you like the idea of being 300 meters in the air and going around a building at light speed, fun. 113 S Casino Center Blvd.

If you love to shop, The Vegas Mall located inside Caesars Palace has tons of shops.

Want to get married? Las Vegas is known as the wedding capital of the world. You must apply for a marriage license first at the County Clerk's Office.
