Awesome Beach
Going to Jamaica was my wife's idea and not mine and for once, my wife had the correct idea. I wanted to go to the Outer Banks and she insisted that we should visit Jamaica and stay at the Sandal Negril resort and spa. Perhaps I need to listen to her more often. I've never been on a vacation that was as carefree and relaxing as this one. It all starts with their location which is truly accurate when described as oceanfront. I didn't know that water this blue truly existed in the world. Best of all, from what I can tell not a single room is more than a few seconds away from the ocean. I don't know how it would be possible to place a resort in a better location. As for the beach, the only word that comes to mind is pristine. When you wake up in the morning and look out the window, it's as if a team has spent the entire night grooming the beach to make sure the first sight of the day that you see is a perfect one. I believe they called the beach seven-mile beach or something along those lines and I would say that is accurate. We walked almost the entire stretch looking for the end of paradise and couldn't find it. As for the food, we ate at all of the restaurants at the resort and all are splendid. I'd feel like a fool if I didn't give particular props to the Bayside Restaurant at the resort and their incredible smoked marlin and curried conch. If my wife had allowed me I'd have been fine with eating these dishes each and every day that we were there. All in all, it was the vacation of a lifetime for me and especially so since it didn't break our vacation budget. My only complaint would be that I can't live there permanently.
