Several Reasons not to be a Home-Based Travel Agent

There are several reasons not to be a home-based travel agent. You have always thought about having your own business so you can be in charge of your own destiny.

"Earn What You Are Worth"

You want to finally make the money you believe you are worth. You want to take your love of travel that you are passionate about and turn it into your own home-based business.

"No more bosses to screw with you"

You have put out your feelers out and discovered everyone likes to travel and now you are so pumped you can't stand it. Your ship is coming in.

I hate to say it but if you feel this way, it's time to bring you back to reality.

"Set Realistic Goals"

You first need to set realistic goals and reasons for becoming a home-based travel agent that you can view every day. I recommend starting this business part time while you are learning, unless you are already have expertise in internet marketing.

Examples of some of the goals you should first set would be based on what do I want to get out of the travel business. Is it to travel cheaper as an insider, receive a commission and claim home business tax deductions? That will not be to difficult to accomplish.

Do you want to generate a part time income of $1,000 a month or do you want to work from home full time? You will need to map out your plan and set your goals and go to work. The business will not build itself while you sit on the couch watching television. But it is fun sharing your travel experience with others.

Make no mistake this is not get rich quick scheme.

It takes time to build a business from scratch. Those who make a lucrative business have work very hard at reaching their goals and so will you. It all depends on how much time a week you can devote to your new business. I had personally set aside 10 hours a week in training and setting up my marketing.

You'll make mistakes and things will go wrong that's human nature and it's what we learn from these stumbling blocks that count.

You have to be bad before you become good while you're on your way to being great. You need to see these stumbling blocks as challenges and learn from them. Nothing great comes easy.

It is a service business and you are dealing with human nature which at times becomes a challenge in dealing with the public. This can be overcome if you love to work with people and share your experience.

There is no guarantee for success. If there was and it was easy, everyone would be doing it. Therefore there are several reasons to become a home based travel agent.
