To this date, my all-time favourite travel destination is Singapore. It is a fantastic city that is very clean and immacultely maintained.
There are so many attractive tourist spots and places worth visiting in Singapore. The city is very cosmopoliton and people of different religions and countries live in harmony. Chinese, Indians and Malaysians constitute the majority of the population. Many languages are popular in Singapore.
There are many good schools and colleges that provide education to international standards. The culture is very rich.
As the city accomadates many foreign nationals, a wide variety of food-fare is offered in the city. Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Korean and Thai food are very popular. Even many American and European food chains cater to different nationals.
Right from the time I landed, I was completely in awe of the size and the beauty of the airport. It was a pleasure walking through the duty free shopping arcade where everything a person may want on a day-to-day basis, was available.
The ride in to the city by taxi was not very expensive. There is a wide range of hotels from which to choose from. The prices vary from the best and most expensive hotels located on the prime area of Singapore to the slightly moderate of the hotels located in the Indian-dominated area 'Serangoon', also known as 'Little India'. Singapore boasts of one of the largest and most cleanly maintained Zoo. The zoo is vast and accomadates so many different variety of animals, reptiles and rare birds. Apart from the zoo, there is a huge bird park located in the area called 'Jurong'. Hence this park is known as 'Jurong bird park'.
Another interesting tourist spot was the Sentosa island which houses a large number of fine arts. The travel to this island could be by one of the many motor-powered boats or by cable-cars. It was a fantastic experience to travel by the cable-car and the view from the car was just breath-takingly beautiful.
Once through this sight-seeing expedition, the most famous feature of Singapore awaited me. The Shopping. The main area of Singapore where all the biggest shopping malls are located is called 'The Orchard'. There are so many malls there and it is a mind-blowing experience to shop in any of these world-famous malls.
Singapore is the ultimate traveller's paradise. It ofers so much to the travellers that by the time it is time to leave Singapore, anyone would have fallen in love with the place.
