Sterling Valley View Resorts at Kodaikannal

by Cindy
(USA)

We went for a vacation to Kodaikannal. We stayed in a resort called Sterling Valley view Resorts which was true to its name facing a Valley. We requested the manager to give us the best room facing the valley and which will give a very good view and we were luckily offered one in the first floor. Basically it was on top of a hill and a single bedroom suite with a sit out facing the valley. We stayed there for a week and enjoyed the vacation to the core. We went for site seeing for three days to places like Guna caves, pillar rocks, shopping, etc. and stayed in the resort itself for the rest of the four days to relax and enjoy the beauty of the resort. The resort had a recreation centre where you can play cards, carom board, shuttle, badminton etc. which kept us occupied all through our days there. The food was one of the major plus point in the resort they had a buffet breakfast and also dinner apart from the regular course of food delicacies. We enjoyed the food to the core. My daughter was so found of the play area and we also had a small swing just below our suite. It was like she used to go and play there all alone also with out our guidance and we used to keep an eye on her from our balcony. The housekeeping staff and the floor managers there were so good and offered very good service to us and they would tell us which will be good also in the menu. Apart from that the suite would be spick and span and always people came to clean it in the morning and evening apart from this on oncall also. We felt very much at home and the view of the valley getting covered by the clouds was awesome. it used to be really very cold in the evenings and we enjoyed sitting in the balcony and sipping our tea and talking endlessly about everything under the sun. The resort had their own homemade chocolate outlet and also their herbal things outlet like herbal shampoo, Aloe Vera gel, etc. Which we purchased for us and our relative. Time flew of just like that and we had no intention to come back home at all from such a lovely place and as usual promised to return there again to ourselves sometime later in future and looking forward to visit the same place again and have a relaxed holiday.
