TSA Rules

By understanding the TSA rules, you will be able to simplify the security check point process quickly to ensure a safe flight to your destination.

Anyone who has traveled by plane should know by now, the main purpose for the security check in is to prevent terrorist aboard the plane that would enable them to take over the plane.

The first thing to remember is to arrive at the airport early to begin the screening process.

You may wear any type of clothing and are permitted to wear head coverings and religious garments. You may be directed for additional screening if your clothing is loose fitting and could hide prohibited items.

Your accessories can set off the metal detector and slow your screening process down. These are some of the TSA rules. You should avoid.

Jewelry

Clothing with metal buttons, snaps or studs

Metal hair barrettes

Belt buckles

Underwire bras

Body piercings

Take metals such as keys, loose change, cell phones and pagers out of your pockets and place them in the tray provided at the x-ray machine. You could also place these items in your carry-on bags.

Put your coats in your baggage if possible because these items must go through the x-ray machine.

Gel filled bras are permitted.

If TSA has identified any metal or you set off an alarm, you will under go additional screening.

If you want to save time, do not wear any metal items and place them in your carry-on bag before getting in line at the security check point.

You will need to keep your boarding pass and government issue photo identification with you until you exit the TSA check points.

TSA require you to remove your shoes before entering the metal detector. This is done to ensure that the foot wear has not been tampered. You can place your shoes and belt in the trays provided by the x-ray machine.

If you have a disability, medical conditions that prevent you from removing your shoes, please notify the TSA Officer.

The ban on liquids, aerosols and gels are still in effect and are currently being tested to enhance your security and balance your needs.

I hope by understanding the TSA rules at the security check points will speed the security process up for you with little stress, so you can enjoy your travel.
