US Taxpayer Ranking

US Taxpayer Ranking: Where do you rank as a US taxpayer and how does your income compare to over 300 million US citizens? If you make $31,121 or more puts you in the top half of all income earnings and the top earners pay 97% of all federal income taxes. The rich may be richer than ever before and the gap between rich and poor continues to grow but the rich also pay the largest percentage of taxes. The top 1% percent earners pay 37% of all the federal individual income taxes collected and the bottom 50% of the earners pay 3% of theses taxes.

How does your income stack up? What percentage of the nation's tax burden falls to you in your income category? See the following table that shows the income categories and percentage of income earned and tax burden paid by each category.
