Washington D.C.

by Brittany
(Illinois, USA)

One of my favorite all time destinations spots was my one of many trips to Washington D.C. Yes, I know, it may not be the most amazing city ever, but I enjoyed my trips there. The first time, I visited during the last weekend in February, and I absolutely loved it. We visited the Lincoln Memorial, which was extremely packed regardless of the chilly weather. The whole city was very clean, and not like any other city I have been to. Every part of that city had a history to it, and I enjoyed every last minute of it. This was about a month after the inauguration so almost every street had President Obama t-shirts and hats and everything you could imagine. We were actually told by the DC police to move to the other street opposite of the White House because I believe the president was leaving soon. Most of the attractions were free as well. The ever popular Smithsonian were a favorite of my trip. The only real thing we had to pay for was food, so it was not really a costly trip. I would indeed go back any day of the week and repeat my trip.
